Not sure why you keep bringing this up, Del. The reason Pete's K98 didn't work for me was because of a poor choice by me on the donor gun. I sold it at no profit to another forum member who has the skills to fit a better one. Can we let this rest now, please?

And what about the tanaka?

   And that wasn't even a reply from ME - you'll never escape.... NEVER !!

i may be already onto that... Just purchased a small civilian exchange today. Won't be the field version, but still eminently usable.

The one that was on ebay perchance?

Oh, I've acquired detailed pictures and schematics and operating instructions for both the inter-war/early war cordless 10 way magneto switchboards and the same for the late war corded 10 way magneto switch boards (you said for me to let you know if I did find any), plus nearly all the info anyone could ever want on Brit field phones, their particular operation and construction of each type (including variants i.e Mk1,Mk2, Mk3, High-Power, etc...) - not to mention me cumulating and publishing the schematics in a modern easy to compare format (handy if you need to repair/test one). If you're interested in anything, just let me know! :good:

No, not ebay, the local auction house. Been picking up some interesting stuff from there recently.

I'd be interested in any pics/info you've picked up about the switchboards, though, if only to make up a lookylikey.

WW2 Amercian gas mask bag £1 from Chatham Dockyard 40's day.

Lt. Morris Schaffer: "Second rate punk," eh?
Major John Smith: Sorry. All I could think of on the spur of the moment.
Lt. Morris Schaffer: Thanks, that makes it even worse.

Some NZ kit to go towards my LRDG impression: 2x basic pouch (stamped '41), 1x large Webley holster (stamped '43) and 1x post war BD trousers (stamped '52; they are the same colour as WW2 NZ BD, nearly the same brown as Brit BD, but ever so slightly greener, though nowhere near as much so as the mid-late 50s ones that I compared them to at the store) $NZD35 for the lot (~GBP15).

Well, I've been trying to find a Cromwell but would have some parking problems! May have to settle for a Dingo I think.
